provides a variety of cancer-related resources and services for adults and
children, including both circulating and reference books and audiovisual
materials.
- American
Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care
- The AAHPM, organized in 1988, is made
up of physicians "committed to furthering and fostering the
practice of hospice/palliative care." This web site lists events
and meetings, publications from AAHPM, and contains links to Internet
information on specific hospices, doctors' resources, general hospice
and palliative care resources, and organizations.

- Children's Hospice International (CHI)
was founded to provide a network of support and care for children with
life-threatening conditions and their families. The web site contains
a glossary of hospice terms, information on talking with children
about serious illness, a list of publications, an online discussion
forum, and links to other Internet resources on children and hospice
care.

- The NAHC represents the interests of
the home care and hospice community. This web site is a good
source for current news about hospice care, including legislation and
regulatory information. The site also has a hospice and home
care agency locator, a list of conferences and meetings, hospice
publications and statistics, links to other hospice care affiliates,
and is the home of "peds@home," an electronic newsletter for
providers of hospice and home care to children.

- Published by the American College of
Physicians, this online guide is an excellent resource for those
dealing with end-of-life issues related to cancer.

Net
- Hospice Net provides a variety of
information in the forma of articles aimed at patients and caregivers.
Topics include "How to be a supportive caregiver,"
"Helping a friend who is dying," "The Family and
Medical Leave Act," "Pain control," "What is
palliative care?," and many others. There is also a series
of articles on bereavement. The site also provides information
on finding a local hospice both in the U.S. and internationally, has
answers to frequently asked questions about hospice care, and has
links to other hospice resources on the Internet.

- The NHO provides basic information
about hospice care, including information on Medicare hospice
benefits, a hospice fact sheet, and an 800 number for ordering a
general information packet. The site contains a searchable
database of hospices in the U.S., links to other hospice information
on the Internet, an online hospice discussion forum, a list of NHO
publications, and information on hospice conferences.

- Provides tips for family caregivers,
healthcare primer, support group guide, care management tips, and much
more.
