The Williamsburg Regional Library
provides a variety of cancer-related resources and services for adults and
children, including both circulating and reference books and audiovisual
materials.
- American
Cancer Society
- Information about cancer, including
resources on specific cancers, patient and family information,
statistics, pain management, alternative therapies, prevention,
treatment, and other topics. There is also information about
local American Cancer Society groups, programs, events, etc. The
site also has a set of links to other online cancer resources.

Care, Inc.
- Cancer Care offers free assistance to
people with any type of cancer, including counseling and emotional
support, information on cancer and treatment, referrals to other
support services, educational seminars and materials, financial
consultation, and programs for health care professionals.
Additionally, Cancer Care provides "Special Needs" programs
for patients whose cancer needs are affected by age, social setting,
or other illness.

- This site is primarily a clearinghouse
for cancer-related web sites. There are links to Internet resources on
specific cancers, clinical trials, support groups, cancer books, and
other topics. There are also links to article databases and
cancer-related journals.

- An extremely comprehensive
clearinghouse of online cancer resources arranged by topic. The
site includes information on specific cancers, as well as a variety of
other cancer-related topics, and has sections for patients, healthcare
professionals, and researchers.

Cancer Council
- The Intercultural Cancer Council
promotes and develops policies and programs to reduce the incidence of
cancer among minority and medically underserved populations. This site
contains information on cancer resources and cancer related programs,
as well as numerous links to online cancer information for minorities.

& Lymphoma Society
- Find information on leukemia,
lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood cancers. Site also contains
information for the newly diagnosed and support groups.

- The Mayo Clinic's cancer center site
contains answers to commonly asked cancer questions, a library of
reference articles on cancer topics, a comprehensive cancer glossary,
and links to other Internet cancer resources.

Cancer Institute
- The U.S. government's online cancer
resource, the NCI site provides a wide range of information arranged
for patients, health care professionals, and researchers.
Information included covers prevention, detection, and treatment of
various cancers; resources on supportive care; an extensive lists of
clinical trials; a section devoted to children and cancer; access to
articles, factsheets, and other published information; and a
well-arranged series of links to other cancer resources on the web.

Coalition for Cancer Survivorship
- The NCCS site contains information for
cancer patients and survivors on finding cancer resources on the
Internet. The information is presented in a step-by-step
fashion, and progresses from basic cancer information through clinical
trial sites, grief and pain management issues, and specific cancers.
There are also links to cancer publications, and information about
various cancer-related Internet discussion groups.

Comprehensive Cancer Network
- The NCCN is a consortium of 17 leading
U.S. cancer centers. Their web site provides profiles of and
links to each of these centers, as well as information on clinical
trials and genetic screening and testing at member institutions.
The NCCN also has a series of links to other Internet cancer
resources.

- Created by the University of
Pennsylvania's Cancer Center, OncoLink provides information on
specific cancers, caregiver and patient support issues (including
grief issues and coping with cancer), causes and prevention, clinical
trials and drug tests, answers to frequently asked questions,
supportive care (including pain management), meetings and conferences,
international cancer resources, and financial issues (including
information on insurance, billing, and financial assistance programs).

Cancer Network
- This site provides information about
gynecological cancers, including types of gynecological cancers, risk
factors, treatment, pain management, and support. There is also a
referral service for locating a gynecologic oncologist, as well as
links to other women's cancer sites.
