The Williamsburg Regional Library
provides a variety of cancer-related resources and services
for adults and children, including both circulating and reference
books and audiovisual materials.

Developed to offer the most current
and accurate information on cancer treatment, support, nutrition and
prevention for adults and children. Resources include books,
videos, audio-tapes, brochures, magazines,
medical journals and directories to area support
groups, medical specialists, cancer
centers and events.

The primary mission of the medical
library is to serve the research needs of the physicians and
hospital staff. The public may use the library materials on a

Collection and services:
Open to anyone, anywhere, who is
coping with cancer. You may request an information packet
over the telephone, through email or by stopping at the library
(no appointment needed). The library provides up-to-date
information written in language you can understand.
Resources include books, pamphlets, videotapes and audiotapes.
Information topics include cancer treatment, site specific cancer,
diet and nutrition, hospice and home care, loss and grief.
Books, videos and audiotapes may be checked out. Pamphlets
are free for taking. Volunteers are available in the library
to help you in your search. Wig and headcovering room opened
Winter, 1999.

The Cancer Resource Library is an
area designated for the cancer patient, family or friends, and those
in the community interested in cancer prevention and early
detection. The library has lay-oriented books, videos, informative
brochures on a wide collection of cancer-related topics. The library
is located in the Cancer Services section, Riverside Regional
Medical Center, available free to those in need of information.
Cancer Services staff members are available to assist those who
visit the library. |
