Center, located in both the Williamsburg Regional Library and James City
County Library, provides access to understandable, current and accurate
cancer-related information for people of all ages. To complement
the Center's resources, educational programs are offered throughout the
year at the libraries.
What center resources are available
through the internet?
The web site brings together the best
cancer-related information available on the Internet, with the many
local resources available for cancer patients, their families, and
cancer survivors throughout the greater Williamsburg area. Local
resources include support groups, libraries, organizations, physicians
and health care professionals, and educational programs and events.
What is in the Library's center?
The award
winning Cancer Resource Center provides access to up-to-date
information in both written and computerized formats. The collection
includes circulating books, electronic resources, reference materials
and cancer-related magazines for in-library use, and free informational
pamphlets. Whether you are looking for a simple explanation or in-depth
research, the Center has information on:

How do I find the information I need?
The Reference Department librarians
will help patients and their families find the resources they need. You
may request information in person, over the phone or through e-mail.
Please keep in mind that librarians cannot give medical advice or
interpret information.
How do I borrow materials from the
center?
The Cancer Resource Center, located in
both library buildings, is open to anyone. The library's
Circulation Department will assist you in registering for a library
card.
