Breast cancer resources

The sites listed here provide information about the detection and treatment of breast cancer.  You will find information about screening, diagnostic techniques, treatment options, clinical trials, support, and other topics.

Medlineplus
MedlinePlus Health Information, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, provides users with information on many health topics, drug information, searchable medical encyclopedia and dictionary, and the latest medical news. Also provided are interactive health tutorials for various diseases, conditions, tests, and diagnostic procedures.  
BreastCancer.Org
Breastcancer.org is a nonprofit organization providing information on breast cancer prevention, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, research, recovery, and support.
 
NCI's Breast Cancer Home Page
The National Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Page includes information on the detection, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.  Also, provided are links to breast cancer clinical trials and cancer literature and statistics.
 
Breast Cancer.Net
A clearinghouse for breast cancer information, this site has links to articles on a wide range of breast cancer related topics ranging from activism to treatment to recovery.  The Newsroom provides access to current newspaper and journal articles.
 
Breast Cancer Resource Center
The American Cancer Society page, provides "answers to questions about the nature of cancer, its causes and risk factors. We also discuss the latest strategies for, new diagnostic techniques, and the latest treatment options. In addition, you can find answers to questions such as: What is cancer? Am I at risk for cancer? How can I tell if I have cancer? What should I ask my physician? What happens after treatment?"
 
Methodist Health Care System's Breast Cancer Home Page
Methodist Health Care includes information about the diagnosis, risk factors, and treatment options of breast cancer.  Users can also learn from the video, slides, and interactive model that are provided.
Kids Health Breast Cancer
The Nemours Foundation Kids Health website offers an overview of breast cancer on a level children can understand.  This is an excellent resource for families who are faced with having a loved one diagnosed with breast cancer.
 
Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization
Founded in 1978 by two breast cancer patients, Y-ME provides general information on breast health and breast cancer, including a set of links to other online resources.  The site also has information and links in Spanish.
