the National Institutes of Health, provides users with information on many health topics, drug information, searchable medical encyclopedia and dictionary, and the latest medical news. Also provided are interactive health tutorials for various diseases, conditions, tests, and diagnostic procedures. 
 
What Is Skin Cancer?
Find out your skin cancer risk profile and learn how to perform a skin cancer self exam on the American Academy of Dermatology's site.  Users can view images of skin cancer and learn interesting facts about skin cancer.  Test your knowledge of skin cancer by taking an online skin cancer quiz.

The National Cancer Institute includes information on the detection, symptoms,
diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Also users can find links to skin cancer clinical trials and cancer literature and statistics.
 
Melanoma Patients' Information Page
This page contains contains a searchable index of melanoma clinical trials and melanoma literature abstracts. There are also links to melanoma centers throughout the country.  It is maintained by Joel Patterson, who is not a medical professional.
 
Skin Cancer (OncoLink)
This site, from OncoLink, provides information on prevention, screening, treatment, and support several types of skin cancers, including melanomas.  There is also a section of current news articles on skin cancer topics.

Part of the American Cancer Society's page, this site provides information on the nature of melanoma skin cancer, its causes and risk factors, the latest strategies for prevention, new diagnostic techniques, and the latest treatment options.
